Born in Florence on 15-6-1943, he graduated in Architecture at the University of Florence in 1969. His thesis supervisors were Leonardo Ricci and Leonardo Savioli. In 1968 he founded, together with Roberto Pecchioli and Giuliano Fiorenzoli, the group ZZIGGURAT, which belonged to the avant-garde movement known as Architettura Radicale. Until 2013 he was a professor in the scientific field sector ICAR14 -Architectural and urban composition – at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Florence. In addition to his academic role he has always carried out project-related applied research, through national and international architectural competitions, projects and works. Since 2009 he is a founding member, together with Claudia Giannoni, of Breschistudio Associati.
